Why I Was Removing Bag Worms

A few weeks ago I accidentally took down a Cecropia moth cocoon because I thought it was bagworms. A lot comments came through that were the opposite of my intentions, so I thought I would share why I thought the cocoon was bagworms, leading me to accidentally taking it down and then protecting it… and why bagworms are destructive to trees.

As a side note, I’ve always been a lover and protector of nature and most of mother earth’s creatures. My aim is to always treat beneficial critters with respect and care. This one, however, is highly destructive and will kill your trees quickly if not handled.

Lil Urban Farm shows what bagworms are and why they are destructive to local trees.
