How to start seeds successfully for the garden.
Tip 4: Add water to your seed mix, but not too much
You DO want to make sure to add additional water to hydrate the seeds after planting, but this initial step gets the mix ready ahead of time.
Some seed starting mediums can be kinda hydrophobic (repel water) so getting the mix slightly wet ahead of time helps it get prepared for holding moisture (this is common with peat-based items).
This also helps the mix hold together a bit so it doesn’t fall through your container.
