How to Grow Oyster Mushrooms in Laundry Baskets

Here’s how you can grow mushrooms in inexpensive laundry baskets…

I decided to stack a few together to create a mushroom tower… but it isn’t very sturdy. After it toppled over on me I had to prop it up with some rebar. I’m going to try another set using a single taller laundry basket next.

For this set of soaked hardwood chips I’m using a Golden Oyster grain spawn to inoculate. Oyster mushrooms are some of the easiest mushrooms to grow. Just make sure to keep them watered so they don’t dry out.

Hopefully we’ll have mushrooms in a few months.

You could also do this with straw and you may get mushrooms faster, but I have a large supply of wood chips to work with currently. You could also do a combination of both.
