  • I’m finally harvesting more spring crops

I’m finally harvesting more spring crops

I’m finally harvesting more of the spring crops I planted!

Come see all the wonderful spring produce I’m currently pulling and eating:

    • Arugula
    • AspaBroc (Sprouting Broccoli)
    • Stonehead Cabbage
    • Chives and Chive Blossoms
    • Dino Kale
    • Garlic Scapes
    • Herbs
    • Leeks
    • Peas
    • Raspberries
    • Spring Rapini / Broccoli Raab
    • Strawberries

And it won’t be long until I start pulling garlic, shallots, blueberries, and more!

It feels so good to be harvesting my own food again.

  • A visit to “Growing in the Mountains” Spring Plant Sale in Asheville

A visit to “Growing in the Mountains” Spring Plant Sale in Asheville

Last weekend I visited a farmers market near Asheville that hosted a “Growing in the Mountains” Spring Plant Sale and Festival.

Since I had just left the big Asheville Herb Festival the weekend before, there wasn’t a lot I needed but I came home with a few new tomato and pepper varieties, plus a few ground cherries.

    • ‘Black Krim’ Tomatoes (4)
    • ‘Mr Stripey’ Tomatoes (4)
    • ‘Sungold’ Cherry Tomato (1)
    • ‘Black Strawberry’ Cherry Tomato (1)
    • ‘Aurora Blue” Tomato (1)
    • ‘Purple Bumblebee’ Cherry Tomatoes (6)
    • ‘Indigo Blue’ Chocolate Tomato (1)
    • ‘Carrot Bomb’ Pepper (1)
    • ‘Arroz Con Pollo’ Pepper (1)
    • ‘Peperoncino’ Peppers (4)
    • ‘Aunt Molly’s’ Ground Cherries (2)
    • ‘Goldie’ Ground Cherry (2)
    • ‘Beauregard’ Sweet Potato Slips (6)
    • Tansy (1)

It’s always so much fun to visit these events for a little plant shopping and talking (and singing) with the knowledgeable merchants.
